Free Egg Nog -- flavored non-fat milk is named the Beverage of the
Year at Chicago's annual Gorman New Products Contest; Hood produces
its first non-dairy product, Hood Non-dairy Country Creamer.
1992
Hood pioneers role in extended-shelf life dairy products leading to
the export of UHT milk overseas.
1993
Hood becomes the nation's leading producer of extended-shelf life (UHT)
dairy products.
1995
Hood introduces first line of low-fat, no sugar added ice cream;
begins major packageing redesign program across all its branded
lines, and is acquired by the John a. Kaneb family, only the
company's third owner in 149 years.
1996
H.P. Hood ce
lebrates its 150th Anniversary, having started the
business in Charlestown in 1846.
1997
The Hoodsie Cup celebrates its 50th Birthday.
Hood
announces plans to convert its former Boston-based processing plant
into the Hood Business Park. H.P. Hood continues its warehousing and
distribution operations from the Charlestown facility.
