NUCETE*
The origins of Nucete date back to 1947, when the first
members of this family settled down in the Arauco Valley (La
Rioja ), more precisely, at the bottom of the Velazco chain.
There
onwards, thanks to the optimal weather, soil, and water
conditions, a pioneering industry emerged, which later
extended its agricultural and industrial area, also
establishing in the province of Mendoza, in the district of
Guaymallén. In this way it grew day by day until Nucete
became a leader, taking to the Argentine tables the
authentic flavor of the best Mediterranean olive: delicious,
nutritive, and suitable for many uses.

The root of the success
Near the Andes Chain, an ideal region for the cultivation of the
best olives of the Arauco and Manzanilla varieties, Nucete produces
green and ripe, whole and pitted, stuffed and sliced olives.
Currently, the Nucete group counts with 1,876 hectares planted,
under drip irrigation, with the most updated international
technology, where more than 486,000 olives are cultivated.Most of
them have been planted during the last five years, which means they
have not yet reached their full production.
The olive crop is carried out at the time of optimal ripeness,
preferably during the months of February, March, April (green
olives) and May (black olives). This activity is made by hand,
picking up olive by olive, in order to avoid any possible bump or
scratch in the skin of the fruit.
Industrial Structure
Nucete has a great production capacity set up in more than
30,000,000 kilos and with a packaging capacity, in their different
formats, of 2,500,000 boxes per year.
By
construing consumer trends and operating with advanced technologies,
Nucete has gained the leadership in the Argentine market – and a
remarkable position in international markets – both operating with
its own brands as well as those of buyers’ and supermarket chains’.
It currently counts with two manufacturing plants located in
Guaymallén (Mendoza) and Aimogasta (La Rioja), equipped with the
most modern and sanitary manufacturing and packaging techniques of
the market.
The company comprises a group of more than 700
officers and employees in all the organization, covering the
industrial, administrative, and commercial areas.
From its factories, the group processes and packs its products in
almost all the formats the markets demands, from the smallest jar to
packages for institutional or catering purposes, and even in bulk
for industrial uses.
